MORSE MANIACS SKI RACE TEAM
The 2002 Ski Season has been a bit warm so far but, a few small storms have
blanketing the mountains in the NorthEast. This has brought heaven to earth
for those who love to ski... and none love to ski more than the Morse Hall
Maniacs. That's right, the Morse Hall Maniacs, a small but courageous group
from the University of New Hampshire have come together to go head to head
(or ski to ski) with thirty other groups from around the region in down hill,
break-neck speed, ski racing at Gunstock ski area in Gilford, New Hampshire.
The group of eight UNH giant slalom racers have been building momentum to
date and are slowly moving up in the standings. Every week the team has
shown improvement and it's expected that the team's streak will continue
due to the hard work and perseverance of each member. Racing occurs every
Wednesday evening beginning at 5:30pm. All family and friends are encouraged
to come up to Gunstock and cheer on the team as they race to victory.
Evening ski tickets are $22 for those who wish to ski with the team. The
slopes open for night skiing at 3:30pm. Dinner and refreshments are served
beginning at 8:30 on the top floor of the main lodge for those who wish to
attend apres ski. For those not interested in night skiing, please watch
this page for the time and date of the CSRC/GIS Lab daytime Ski outing
planned for later this season in mid to late March.
