To add feature data to a View, you will want to add Themes to the view. Once you have the GIS layers which you want to incorporate into your View, you can add these Themes to your ArcView project. There are two ways to add a Theme to your view: the first way is to click on the
Add Theme Button
Either of these options will give you a file directory where you can specify the location of your Theme data. Repeat this process for all the Themes which you wish to add to your View. You can add Themes at any point during the editing process.
Once this is accomplished, you must activate your data layers. To do this, check in the box next to the Theme name in order to activate and de-activate specific data layers. At this point you will want to choose your "BOSS" layer which will act as the base which you will place all your other layers over. To change the order of the data layers, simply click and drag the specific themes into the order in which you want them to be displayed. Even though all the layers may be turned on, only one layer can be active at a time which is important to know when editing different Themes.
One very important tool is the Magnifying Glass tool because it allows you to zoom in and out on your view, allowing for better detail and accuracy when creating a view.
