1. Start photoshop LE. Go to the File Menu, choose Import, then select CanonPI FS 3.6 from the submenu that appears.
2. The first time you launch CanonPI FS 3.6, the scanner will ask you to remove any film from the scanner so that it can initialize. A window will prompt you to click OK to initialize the scanner, and another window will prompt you to click OK telling you the scanner is initialized.
3. When CanonPI FS 3. launches, the Scan window
will appear.
Unlike traditional scan windows, the CanonPI FS scan window has no quit option, so you will have to close out of the window by clicking the box in the upper left hand corner.
The dotted box in the scan window lets you define the area to be scanned. The part of the overview or prescan image selected by the scan frame is the part of that is scanned when you click the Scan button. To resize a scan frame, drag on the corner or edge of the scan frame surrounding the image and resize the frame to the desired area.
Zoom tool: Zooms in (enlarges) or zooms out (reduces) the view of the
overview or prescan image. To zoom in, click inside the image. To
zoom our, hold down the Option key and click the mouse.
The two icons to the left allow you to manipulate your image before it is fully scanned. Once the slide or film has been previewed, use these icons to change the RGB values, saturation values etc.
Place the slide in the scanner in the obvious slot on the scanner, with the front of the slide facing to the left. If scanning a 35 mm film, use the plastic film holder, putting the plastic window over which part of the film you wish to scan, and place the film holder in the scanner so the the orange dots line up.
1. Launch Photoshop LE. from the File menu, choose the import command, then select CanonPI FS 3.6 from the submenu.
2. In the scan window, chose what kind of film you are scanning under film type.
3. Next, choose the scan mode you wish to scan in, whther it is greyscale or color.
4. Choose an output device, whether it is a file, printer etc., and what resolution you wish to scan your slide or film at.
5. Click preview and the scanner will begin to scan your slide or film.
6. When the scanner is finished, the image should appear on the left of the scan window. You can use various tools in the lower left corner to help you manipulate your image to what you want it to look like (i.e. change the RGB etc).
7. Simply click on scan, and the scanner will begin to scan your slide or film. Once the scanner is finished, CanonPI FS 3.6 will automatically place the final image into Photoshop, where you can manipulate the image further.
